¡pling! is a Mexico City-based design studio founded by Jake Naughton. We bring surprise and elegance to the everyday, creating sculptural and functional objects built through material exploration.

Our design philosophy can be summed up as joyful brutalism: architectural, rigorous, and obsessed with materiality, but fundamentally committed to playfulness.

The name ¡pling! is an energetic onomatopoeia without a fixed definition, an experience rather than a statement.

Our debut collection stems from a simple question: What if the materials that make up Mexico City — corrugated fiberglass roofing, steel grates, vinyl tarps — were treated with the same reverence and precision as tropical wood or hand-blown glass?

The result is a dialogue of rhythm and contrast in which materials that don't normally share the same space are treated with equal formal rigor. Each piece is defined by precise lines and sculptural presence, but is made to be used, to be touched, to accumulate history, to last.
